Boat Rentals on Lady Bird Lake

Capital Cruises offers a wide selection of rental boats. Our manually powered rentals include paddle boards, canoes, one-person and two-person kayaks, and swan pedal boats for $18.00-$40.00 per hour. Our motorized rentals are sporty electric launches for $100.00* per hour and accommodate groups of 10 or less.  CREDIT CARD REQUIRED FOR ALL RENTALS

Rental hours for non-motorized boatsrentals-051212

  • March through October
    • 10:00 am to approximately one hour before dusk
  • November through February
    • approximately Noon to 4:00 pm (as weather permits)
  • Extended rental hours until after the bat emergence most days March – October

Electric boats are available anytime with advance reservations (schedule and staffing permitting). We recommend calling 24-48 hours or even more in advance for weekend rentals. Please note, our electric boat rentals have a two-hour minimum. Call for availability.

Donut Boats – First Donut Boats in Texas!

First Capital Cruises Donut Boat RideCapital Cruises is proud to offer “Donut Boat” rentals exclusively to Lady Bird Lake and provides the latest small group electric boat adventure for the ultimate Austin experience. The Donut Boat’s unique design allows up to ten people to casually sit around a center table, complete with a cooler in the middle for all your beverages or snacks, while you cruise Lady Bird Lake. The quiet electric motor allows you to easily chat with your friends and drives with the ease of a golf cart on the water. Never driven a boat? No problem, you’ll receive an orientation. It’s fun for the “hole” family and a “Do-nut” miss it Austin adventure. Accepting rentals now.

Both the “Donut Mess with Texas” and “Glazed and Confused” boats are 11′ in diameter and fit up to 10 passengers. (photos coming soon)

Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP) Rentals

CC-sup-IMG_0435Capital Cruises now offers SUP boards on Lady Bird Lake. Skip the lines at other facilities on the lake! Come down, get right on the lake, and paddle past Auditorium Shores, Barton Creek, Zilker Park, and the Congress Avenue Bridge with the panoramic backdrop of the dynamic Austin skyline and many great restaurants and bars a short walk from the dock. Paddle Boards are easy for beginners and fun for everyone. Our friendly staff will give you a quick tutorial to make sure your experience is fantastic! Walk, cab, bus, or drive to paddle the best boards on the lake.

  • $20.00 for one hour
  • $30.00 for two hours

Swan Pedal Boats

Perfect for a relaxing afternoon on the water with a picnic lunch for two or for quenching the thirst that your young one has for pedal boating with its kitschy charm. Get your pictures taken before you leave, when you’re still at your most photogenic.

  • The swan pedal boat is $20.00 per hour for a 2 seater. Our new 4 seater is $30/hour. (Two Hour Minimum charge after 5)

Canoe Rentals

CC-canoe-IMG_1719Rent a canoe and explore Lady Bird Lake with the family or the dog. Bring a small cooler, a picnic basket, or your fishing gear.

  • All canoes are $20.00 per hour. (Two Hour Minimum charge after 5)

Kayaks

The fastest and most efficient of our self-propelled watercraft. Get the well-rounded workout that you want from the gym but with much better scenery. (Two Hour Minimum charge after 5)

  • Single-person kayaks are $18.00 per hour.
  • Two-person kayaks are $20.00 per hour.

Duffy Rentals

Rduffy21ent an electric boat for your next private cruise. Reservations are definitely recommended, as these boats are very popular. It is never too early to reserve your boat. Give us a call to secure your reservation!

Duffy 21′ Rental

duffy21Duffy 21′ is a 2006 model Duffy with leather seats, stereo, CD player, and iPod connection. It is completely enclosable for rough weather days, and we can even put a small heater inside to warm the cabin. This boat is perfect for romantic dates or small groups of eight or fewer people.

  • $100 per hour (2 hour minimum)
  • Self-driven electric vessel

Longhorn 21′ Rental

longhorn21Nearly identical to its blue-topped sister, Longhorn 21′ is a luxurious 2006 model with leather seats, stereo, CD player, and iPod connection; however, this boat has a teak table and steering wheel.
